Guests are greeted by our team on the day of check in from 3:00pm to 8:00pm. We’ll get you settled, show you around and make sure you’re off on the right foot.

House Access

Guests are two keys; a digital key fob for the main entry door and a skeleton key for their designated room.  The main entry is open from 9am to 8pm for guests to come and go freely.  Silas House is not responsible for damage to or theft of property left in common areas of the house or in the barn. *We get it, our keys are super cute, but any lost or stolen room keys result in a $40 charge.

Communal Spaces

Our house is meant to be shared communally with other guests. Guests are expected to leave common areas the way they found them, share spaces peacefully and be respectful of others during their stay.

Breakfast Service

Guests enjoy free breakfast items on Saturday and Sunday morning from 9:00am -11:00am. Guests can expect seasonal fruits, yogurt, oatmeal, and rotating surprises from the hosts. Self-serve coffee, espresso and tea are available in the kitchen 24/7.

Kitchen and Dining

Silas House Kitchen is available for guests in a limited manner. Guests have access to a toaster, microwave, and shared refrigerator. Used dish-ware/flat-ware and trash should be put in marked bins.

We do not allow guest access to the stove or oven in the Silas Kitchen. Exceptions can be made for group buyouts with an additional cleaning fee included.

Honor System Market

Silas House offers a variety of drinks, snacks and merchandise for purchase during your stay. Items can be purchased by credit card on our online market or with cash in a drop box. We are a trust-first property and believe guests will be honest about the items they are taking and account for them accordingly. Please do not leave children unattended to raid the market. The hosts withhold the right to charge guests for unpaid items taken. If items are running low on stock, please let us know!

The Garden

Silas House Gardens are open to guests during the stay to explore and enjoy. Our gardener is onsite periodically and would happily take guests on a tour. The garden is active and growing - please do not disturb the plant life or walk over the garden beds. Little ones must be accompanied by an adult at all times in The Garden.

The Barn:

Opening late summer 2024, The Barn lower level is available to guests as a social space to enjoy from 9am - 8pm. Guests are not permitted in the barn outside of open hours without the express approval from our team.

Quiet Hours:

In order to respect the peace and tranquility of our guests, we ask that you be mindful of noise between the hours of 11pm-9am.  

Parking

Guest parking is clearly marked on the right side of the property with security cameras for your safety. Please do not park on the circle driveway or on unmarked grass. Parking is for guests staying at Silas House and any unauthorized vehicles parked overnight are at risk of being towed. Silas House is not responsible for damage to or theft of property left in vehicles.

Linens and Towels

Bath towels and face towels are included in your stay. Black make-up towels are available in each room if you need to clean up any spills, remove makeup, clean mud from your shoes, etc. We understand that accidents happen, but any irreplaceable damage to linens or towels will be charged to guests at full replacement value.

Smoking & Smoke

We are a smoke free property. There is absolutely no smoking permitted inside, in the barn or on our outdoor deck and garden. If you'd like to smoke, you can do so in the parking area at the side of the house. All cigarette butts must be disposed of and any trash found on site may result in a fine. We do not allow candles or burning of any kind in the room or in common areas. Evidence of smoking, e-smoking or burning of anything will result in a $750 cleaning fee. 

Indoor Fireplace

For guests staying in the King Suite, we ask that you take care when operating the in-room fireplace. If there is any question or hesitation on operate the fireplace, please let our team know and we can assist you. Please do not put anything other than firewood into the fireplace.  Please make sure the fireplace screen covers the opening of the fireplace at all times.

Outdoor Fire Pit

Wood is provided to guests staying at Silas House to build a fire outside during their stay. Lighters, kindling and roasting sticks are available for guest use. If our team is onsite and available, we can build a fire for guests. Outdoor fires must be fully extinguished before guests retire for the night.

Lawn Games and Outdoor Fun

Silas House is stocked with games and sports equipment for fun activities during your stay. All items must be returned to the storage bins and put back for other guests to use. Please do not leave balls, rackets, yoga mats etc. outside or throughout the property. Lost or stolen items will incur a fine.

Town Noise Ordinance

Excessive outdoor noise is restricted after 10pm. Please refrain from yelling or playing any amplified music outside after hours.

Trespassing

Guests must stay within the fence line of the property at all times. Trespassing on neighboring properties for any reason is strictly forbidden and any guests found roaming will incur a fine.

Trash

We’re in The Catskills! That means BEARS, DEER, FOXES Oh My! DO NOT leave any food or trash outside or on the porch for any reason. Trash bins will be provided throughout the property to dispose of any waste. Wildlife damages due to guest negligence will result in a $1000 fine.

Photography

Commercial photography is not permitted at Silas House without written permission from our team. If you’d like to host a photo shoot on site, please email us at Hello@silashouseinn.com

Pets

Due to our close, communal environment, we do not allow pets of any kind. We love animals too (ask about our cat), but not all guests will feel the same about your furry friend.

We do accept qualified service dogs - Read about ADA guidelines for details.

Housekeeping

One to three night stays will not receive daily housekeeping or new towels/linens. If there are accidents, messes, or if bathroom amenities are low on stock, please let us know and we will help!

Firearms
Firearms of any kind are not permitted at Silas House.

Cancelation Policy

• 100% of payment is refundable when canceled 30 days before arrival or earlier

• 50% of payment is refundable when canceled 15 days before arrival or earlier

• 0% refundable if cancelation is made 14 days before arrival

Booking terms

• Must be 21 years of age to book

• All guests under 21 must be accompanied by an adult on the property
